Canon.com/ijsetup is your one-stop shop for setting up your Canon printer. It's a user-friendly website designed to walk you through the installation process, whether you're connecting wirelessly or with a USB cable. Plus, it ensures you download the latest drivers specifically for your printer model.


Get Started with Canon.com/ijsetup

  • Visit the Website: Head over to Canon.com/ijsetup in your web browser.
  • Select Your Model: Enter your printer model number in the designated field. The website will automatically detect your model or offer a search option if needed.
  • Download Drivers: Select your operating system (Windows, Mac, etc.). You'll be directed to the download page for the latest drivers compatible with your printer.
  • Run the Installer: Once downloaded, double-click the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Choose Your Connection: Select your preferred connection method (wireless or USB) during the installation process.

Wireless Setup

  • If you choose wireless setup, the software will guide you through connecting to your Wi-Fi network. You'll need to enter your Wi-Fi password during this step.
  • The software might also prompt you to press specific buttons on your printer to establish the connection.

USB Setup

  • For a USB connection, simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation.
  • Once complete, your printer should be recognized by your computer and ready to use.

Network Setup Using WPS

To set up your Canon printer using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), follow these steps:

  • Ensure Your Printer Is ON:
    • Make sure your printer is powered on and ready.
  • Access the Printer Menu:
    • Press the Menu button on the printer’s operation panel.
  • Select WLAN Setup:
    • Use the arrow buttons (up, down, left, right) to navigate to “WLAN setup,” then press OK.
  • Search for Access Points (Routers):
    • The printer will search for available access points (routers).
  • Activate WPS on Your Router:
    • Press and hold the WPS button on your router for about 5 seconds.
    • On the printer’s operation panel, press OK to confirm.
  • Complete the Connection:
    • Once the printer connects to your Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi lamp will light up.
    • If the Alarm lamp lights up, refer to troubleshooting steps.
  • Software Installation:
    • Return to your computer and proceed with the installation:
      1. Windows:
        • Click the taskbar icon and follow on-screen instructions.
        • Use the setup software from the CD that came with your printer or download it if needed.
      2. Mac:
        • Click the Dock icon and follow the on-screen instructions.
        • You can download the setup software online.
